In the luggage compartment, part of the on-board tool kit (double loaded floor)
How to attach the towing hook:
Remove round cover from the front right/rear left of the bumper and screw tow hook in to the end.
Towing procedure:- Make sure the ignition is always on so the steering wheel is not locked and the indicators and windshield wiper can be operated if needed. The enhanced braking and power steering only work when the ignition is switched on. Otherwise, the brake pedal has to be pressed much harder and the steering is heavy.
- Make sure that the key is always in the vehicle during the towing process.
- Select drive mode “N”.
- Deactivate the electronic parking brake.
- Or: The driver sits in the driver’s seat with his seat belt fastened at all times during the entire towing procedure and the driver’s door is closed.
- Make sure that the electronic parking brake is always switched off during the entire towing process.
- Make sure that the tow rope is always taut.
- The maximum permitted speed is 50 km/h (30 mph).
- The maximum allowed distance is 50 km (30 miles)
