Route planning

Plan long journeys in advance to allow for possible charging stops.

The following should be taken into account

  • Check charging points along the route via app

  • Recommended apps for route planning (for details about the apps, see below)

    • APRP (A Better Route Planner)
    • Charge Map (registration required)
    • Shell Recharge
    • Via vehicle navigation (not available on Marvel)
  • Set off with full battery

  • Heat/cool the vehicle whilst charging

  • Optimal speed 120 km/h

  • Speeds above 120 km/h put a strain on the battery and lead to increased consumption and reduce the possible range

  • Most efficient charging performance between 20% and 80% battery level

  • Combine charging stops with breaks

  • If you wait at the charging station for a longer period of time, waiting fees may apply

  • If possible, charge at fast charging stations at service stations/on motorways

Public charging points

  • To charge as efficiently as possible

    • Charging station should be able to charge 150 kW
    • Most efficient charging power between 20% and 80% battery level
    • Only recharge as much as necessary to reach your destination safely
    • Waiting at the charging station for a longer period of time may result in waiting fees.
  • Prioritise the use of the OMS charging chip

    • Please report incompatible charging points during the charging process
    • Public charging point feedback
    • This helps OMS E-Mobility to expand its own charging network.
  • There is a Shell Recharge charging card in the OMS on-board folder that works at many charging points. Please use this as an alternative only.
